New Services Offered!

September 18, 2017

Central Phoenix Women's Health Care is excited to announce that we are now offering in-office lactation support! Our Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Whitney Padgett, is now a Certified Lactation Counselor. She is able to diagnose and assist with latch issues, sore/cracked nipples, pumping, supply issues, clogged ducts, mastitis (breast infections), and other breastfeeding concerns.

Whitney has previous experience helping new mothers with their breastfeeding journeys as a labor and delivery nurse at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix. Her passion for breast feeding support developed when she herself struggled with lactation following the birth of her first son in 2013. Whitney attended the Center for Breastfeeding's Certified Lactation Counselor Program in order to provide further care to our patients and help women achieve their breastfeeding goals.

It's Flu Season!

September 18, 2017

It's flu season! The CDC and ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) recommend all adults receive an annual flu immunization. It is especially important for all women who are or will become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, during flu season (typically October-May), to receive an inactivated influenza vaccination as soon as it is available. It is safe to receive the vaccine in all trimesters of pregnancy. Pregnant women who are affected by flu can become much sicker than non-pregnant adults, suffering more severe symptoms, often requiring hospitalization. You cannot get the flu from getting the flu shot! Get ready to roll up your sleeve at your next OB or well woman visit.
